Hi, I’m viola stephens.

Like many Africans who grew up in a city, I had one foot in the new ways, and another in the old. My happiest memories are from the countless holidays spent at my grandparents’ home in a rural village where my Mum was born and raised; on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro.

There was no running water, no electricity and one of the many treats was taking a short walk to drink the water from a nearby stream whose source was the melted ice from the snowcapped mountain.

When neighbours were sick, they sought my grandparents’ help for aching stomachs, colicky babies and heart conditions. Different herbs from their garden were mixed and prepared and shared with clear instructions. As a foundation, everyone was eating real, whole foods. Avocados, lemons, mangoes, pawpaws and bananas grew abundantly and you ate what you or your neighbour grew.

At 12, I read my first health book because I have always had a fascination with food as medicine. I considered Nutrition for my University studies but took what I mistakenly thought was a more sensible root. Decades and a Continent later, my years of learning have culminated in certification as a Metabolic Nutrition and Detoxification coach with a passion to help couples suffering with infertility, subfertility and recurrent miscarriages, finally hold the babies they desire. My training makes it possible to work with clients in reversing chronic degenerative diseases from diabetes to cancer, but I choose to work with couples reversing infertility. If you would like to know why, you may read more here.
